Forever 21, a popular American clothing retailer, is implementing an M2SYS-made biometric time and attendance tracking system. The two companies have reached an agreement that will see the technology implemented in Forever 21 store locations.
That technology will be in the form of M2SYS’s RightPunch, a PC-based biometric time clock featuring fingerprint, finger vein, and palm vein modalities. (Forever 21 is going with fingerprint scanning.) RightPunch is being integrated with Forever 21’s current time tracking software, Kronos Workforce Management.
In a statement, M2SYS President Michael Trader emphasized the technology’s value proposition, noting that its “affordable price point is especially appealing to the retail industry where stores typically have less than 50 employees.”
While M2SYS certainly has proven experience in the field of time and attendance tracking, this deployment fits into a larger global trend that has seen biometric systems adopted in facilities ranging from a sugar mill in El Salvador to a coffee chain in the UAE. Though the technology is necessarily more costly than traditional time and attendance tracking systems, many organizations are now seeing the benefits in the significant savings it provides in cutting down administrative costs and has proven to be an excellent way of cutting down on time theft.
