Fingerprint Cards (FPC) reported strong headline figures in its Q3 2025 interim report. Revenue climbed 35% year-over-year to SEK 20.4 million (or 47% in constant currency), while the company’s EBITDA loss was slashed dramatically from SEK 40.8 million in Q3 2024 to just SEK 9.8 million.
However, a closer look at the results shows that this performance is largely driven by the company’s “asset monetization” strategy, not just its core business. FPC reported a very high gross margin of 68.6%. The company’s report and CEO attributed this to a “favorable mix” that included a one-time SEK 4.8 million IP licensing deal with Egis Technology. This single, non-recurring deal accounted for over 23% of the quarter’s total revenue.
This data indicates FPC is in a “leaner” transitional phase. The company is actively exiting its legacy mobile and PC businesses. The Egis deal, which was for “PC-related assets,” is an example of FPC selling off this legacy IP to generate high-margin cash. This cash is now being used to fund the company’s pivot as it races to build sustainable, recurring revenue in new growth areas.
The strategic shift follows FPC’s dramatic Q1 revenue doubling earlier this year, which marked the company’s turnaround from years of mobile market struggles. The company has been seeking financial stability through a rights issue to fund its ongoing transformation and focus on high-value biometric and identity markets.
