“The latest integrations point to Fingerprint Cards’ continuing prominence as a supplier of fingerprint sensors to the mobile market…”
Another raft of new smartphones are using biometric technology provided by Fingerprint Cards, the company has announced.
The four newly revealed integrations are each with a different smartphone brand, all of which are returning customers for FPC. Huawei’s new Honor Play smartphone and Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 each feature the FPC1028 fingerprint sensor model, while Moto’s Z3 Play uses an FPC1145 sensor. For its new T9 device, meanwhile, Meitu has implemented the FPC1228, a sensor designed for under-glass integrations.
The latest integrations point to Fingerprint Cards’ continuing prominence as a supplier of fingerprint sensors to the mobile market even as the company takes bold cost reduction measures to cope with falling ASPs in this highly competitive market area. And that prominence is all the more clear in the context of FPC’s multiple integrations in high-profile new smartphones from Xiaomi and devices from other smartphone makers last month.
In a statement announcing these latest smartphone integrations, FPC emphasized the image quality, performance, and low power consumption of its fingerprint sensor solutions. “We are very proud to provide world class biometrics for four new and cool smartphones,” the company said.
