Fime Becomes First Quebec-Based DIACC-Accredited Auditor for Canada’s Trust Framework

Fime has been accredited by the Digital ID and Authentication Council of Canada as an official auditor under the Pan-Canadian Trust Framework, becoming the first DIACC-accredited auditor based in Quebec. The accreditation lets the testing and certification firm independently assess whether an organization’s digital identity services meet the framework’s requirements, adding local assurance capacity as Canada’s digital identity ecosystem expands.

The role is one of independent assessment. As a DIACC-accredited auditor, Fime can evaluate fintechs, identity providers, financial institutions, governments, and global technology organizations against the Pan-Canadian Trust Framework, helping them demonstrate compliance, interoperability, and trust. That third-party check is what lets an organization show others its identity services conform to a common Canadian standard rather than asserting it on its own.

The accreditation matters because digital identity is moving into higher-stakes settings. As identity verification spreads across payments, banking, and public services, the organizations deploying it increasingly need partners who can test and certify their systems against an agreed framework, and Fime is positioning its combination of digital identity testing, certification, cybersecurity, and regulatory-compliance experience to fill that need in the Canadian market. Being based in Quebec adds assessment capacity within the province rather than only elsewhere in Canada.

“Building a trusted digital trust and identity ecosystem requires qualified, independent assessment capabilities,” said Joni Brennan, President and Chief Executive Officer of DIACC, adding that Fime’s accreditation expands trusted expertise in Quebec and across Canada to help organizations advance secure and interoperable digital identity solutions aligned with the Pan-Canadian Trust Framework. Xavier Giandominici, Senior Vice President for the Americas at Fime, said the accreditation reflects the company’s long-term commitment to digital trust in Canada and positions it to help organizations navigate evolving digital identity requirements.

The accreditation extends Fime’s track record of standards-based testing into Canada’s trust framework. The company has built test tooling for digital identity standards, including test tools for the EU Digital Identity Wallet and mobile driver’s license standards. On the framework side, DIACC has been extending the Pan-Canadian Trust Framework it established as a common set of digital identity standards into sector-specific profiles, recently closing a public review of an automotive identity profile, the kind of criteria an accredited auditor like Fime would assess against.
