The FIDO Alliance has released the agenda for Authenticate 2024, its industry conference dedicated to user authentication. The event will take place from October 14-16 at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, with options for virtual participation.
Now in its fifth year, Authenticate is a major event for cybersecurity professionals, featuring over 100 sessions and 125 speakers from across the globe. It is focused on the latest innovations and discussions in the digital identity industry, particularly on passwordless authentication using passkeys.
The conference is aimed at a wide range of professionals, including CISOs, security strategists, enterprise architects, UX leads, and product and business leaders at any stage of their passwordless journey. Planned sessions will cover topics such as FIDO technology fundamentals, business outcomes, implementation best practices across various use cases, and UX considerations, all supported by real-world case studies.
The event is set in a resort environment that encourages collaboration, networking, and community-building among attendees.
Keynote addresses will be delivered by industry experts from organizations such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Sony, Visa, Yubico, and the FIDO Alliance, who will share their experiences in implementing passwordless solutions for both workforces and consumers. The content at Authenticate 2024 will be presented across four stages, organized into 11 distinct tracks designed to cater to different interests and levels of expertise. An interactive expo hall will allow participants to explore solutions from various providers, and networking events will offer opportunities to connect with peers and subject matter experts.
The 11 content tracks include discussions on the business case and ROI for passkeys, technical fundamentals and features of passkeys, UX fundamentals, identity and access management (IAM) basics, and identity verification fundamentals.
Additionally, there will be sessions on passkeys for consumers, enterprises, and government use cases, as well as for payment systems. The conference will also explore complementary technologies and standards, and provide insights into the passwordless vision and the future of passkeys.
Registration details and the full session guide can be found on the Authenticate 2024 conference website.
Earlier this summer, FIDO Alliance Executive Director and CEO Andrew Shikiar joined FindBiometrics on an episode of the ID Talk podcast to discuss key issues in authentication and identity security. The discussion covered the mechanics of passkeys, the threats posed by phishing and deepfakes, the rigorous vendor testing in FIDO’s accreditation process, and much more.
