“Professionals interest in speaking at the inaugural Authenticate conference are encouraged to send their proposals to FIDO’s event organizers by November 1st of this year.”
The FIDO Alliance is organizing its first big industry conference, the organization has revealed; and it already has some big names on board.
Dubbed “Authenticate”, it’s going to be a two-day event revolving around educational sessions concerning strong online authentication. Google, Microsoft, and Yubico have all signed on as “Signature Sponsors” of Authenticate, and the FIDO Alliance is now looking for interested speakers.
“Speaking at Authenticate 2020 is an opportunity to increase visibility, share insights and make connections with colleagues in all stages of modern authentication rollouts,” the standards-focused consortium asserted in a statement announcing the conference.
FIDO went on to lay out some key topic areas for industry professionals who might have unique perspectives and experiences to share: “Authentication trends & insights”, “State of security & credential attacks”, “Case studies & implementation strategy”, “Vertical trends & initiatives”, Industry standards”, “Regulatory impact on authentication”, and “Technical & developer tutorials”.
Naturally, all of this is going to revolve around the FIDO Alliance’s approach to authentication. That means on-device authentication will be highlighted for its advantages in protecting sensitive data against hack attacks and other server breaches; it also means biometric technologies will get their share of the spotlight, especially now that the FIDO2 authentication standard is helping to spread support for biometric login on the web.
Professionals interest in speaking at the inaugural Authenticate conference are encouraged to send their proposals to FIDO’s event organizers by November 1st of this year. The event itself, meanwhile, is scheduled to run from June 2nd to 3rd in Seattle, with the Motif Seattle Hotel providing the venue.
