Famoco and TECH5 have announced a strategic partnership to integrate contactless biometric capture technology into mobile payment devices. The collaboration centers on incorporating TECH5’s T5-AirSnap multi-biometric technology into Famoco’s new Android-based FX206 device.Stylized illustration depicting various biometric authentication technologies including a fingerprint, facial recognition, and voice recognition or sound wave pattern, presented in a circular futuristic design motif with geometric shapes and lines.

The Famoco Touch FX206, designed specifically for business applications, features comprehensive biometric capture capabilities without requiring additional hardware. The device includes dual cameras, extended battery life, and various connectivity options, making it suitable for field operations across multiple sectors.

TECH5, which has previously expanded its biometric capabilities through strategic integrations, brings its T5-AirSnap technology to the partnership. This AI-powered solution enables touchless capture of both facial and fingerprint biometrics, incorporating quality checks, liveness detection, and compatibility with existing biometric databases.

“The FX206 with T5-AirSnap is a game-changer in the realm of mobile payment, identity verification, and enrolment,” said Benoit RAVIER, Chief Commercial Officer at Famoco. “By removing the need for additional biometric hardware, we are delivering a more cost-effective and scalable solution for telecom operators, financial institutions, and government agencies worldwide.”

The partnership comes at a time when contactless biometric solutions are gaining traction globally, particularly in government services and financial institutions. TECH5, which has recently secured major contracts for national digital identity systems, brings substantial expertise in large-scale biometric implementations to the collaboration.

The integrated solution targets multiple sectors, including telecommunications for SIM card registration, government agencies for identity document processing, and banking institutions for customer onboarding and transactions. All devices can be managed remotely through Famoco’s Mobile Device Management system, enabling centralized control and configuration.

Andy Gray, Vice President Europe & SAARC, Business Development & Sales at TECH5, emphasized the partnership’s potential impact: “We believe that our partnership with Famoco will help to revolutionize the payment industry, as well as improve the experience of digital onboarding in the field.”
