FindBiometrics readers want to hear from leaders in the biometrics industry. That’s certainly one takeaway from this week’s roundup of our most popular stories.
As a case in point, one of the most popular items from the week was Thursday’s live webinar, “10 Reasons to Switch to Frictionless Access Control“, now available on demand. The webinar was presented by FindBiometrics and Oosto, an industry leader in face biometrics and access control, and delved into the compelling benefits of using facial recognition to enable contactless access and high level of security:

And FindBiometrics readers also wanted to hear from another global leader in biometrics, NEC Corporation of America. In this case, the company was represented by Jason Van Sice, its Vice President of Aviation, who talked to FindBiometrics Editor in Chief Peter Counter about his company’s I:Delight platform and the transformative benefits of facial recognition in air travel, among other timely topics:

Another pair of face biometrics leaders stayed in the spotlight this week for very different reasons. FaceTec generated a lot of buzz at the start of the year with its announcement of a patent infringement lawsuit against iProov last week, and the story continued to draw attention from FindBiometrics readers this week. It’s surely going to be one of the ongoing items to watch in the months ahead:

But it wasn’t just face biometrics technology stoking reader interest this week. Smart lighting specialist Sengled attracted a lot of attention with its unveiling of a smart light bulb that it says is capable of reading health metrics like temperature and heart rate without the need for physical contact. It’s a passive health monitoring system for the IoT:

And finally, FindBiometrics readers continued to show interest in filling out our annual Year in Review survey this week. The survey is designed to tackle a broad range of important topics, opportunities, and challenges facing the biometrics industry, and is pitched at professionals who work in it or in adjacent areas. By soliciting feedback from those who know the space best, our Year in Review surveys let the biometrics industry get a good look in the mirror:
