FacePhi has added some extra financial expertise to its board of directors. The company has announced the appointment of Pablo Reig Boronat, a former PwC manager and founder of his own auditing firm.
Reig served as a Senior Manager at PwC from 2005 to 2015, when he decided to found PRB Audit Partners. In a statement announcing his appointment to the FacePhi board, the biometrics specialist highlighted PRB Audit Partners’ work in “financial auditing, consulting, and M&A processes.”
Boronat also happens to be a local of Alicante, the site of FacePhi’s headquarters. In addition to being accredited by the Registry of Accounting Experts and a member of the Official Registry of Auditors of Accounts, Reig also sits on the Alicante Board of Directors of the Spanish Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Commenting on his appointment to the board, Reig welcomed it as a professional challenge, adding that he hopes to use his expertise to contribute to FacePhi’s growth. “The company is in a moment of incredible expansion and there is a lot of work ahead, so I am extremely grateful for the trust placed and very excited to start this new stage in a firm that I have known well since 2014,” he said.
The company has indeed benefitted from growing interest in biometrics in recent years, and particularly from demand for selfie-based biometric onboarding solutions from the financial services sector. While FacePhi reported lower year-over-year revenues for 2020 in its most recent corporate update, the company saw a 69 percent increase in signed contracts in 2020, and more than doubled its staff roster.
