“Yapi Kredi AGM Yakup Dogan explained that Eyeprint ID ‘addresses two major shortcomings for mobile banking customers today: security and recalling passwords.'”
EyeVerify technology has arrived in Europe. The company has announced that its eye vein-based mobile authentication platform, Eyeprint ID, is now being used in its first European bank app.
The deployment comes through Yapi Kredi, Turkey’s first national private bank, and with the help of local distributor Ölçsan. The system allows Yapi Kredi customers to login to their mobile apps using their phones’ cameras, with EyeVerify’s software authenticating via biometric patterns in and around the eye.
In a statement announcing the integration, Yapi Kredi AGM Yakup Dogan explained that Eyeprint ID “addresses two major shortcomings for mobile banking customers today: security and recalling passwords.” Ölçsan GM Burak Sondal, meanwhile, said the technology offers “99.998% accuracy and speeds of less than a second,” making it “an easy choice for our clients.”
Its introduction to the European banking sector points to continuing growth for EyeVerify, which saw over 50 integrations of Eyeprint ID last year and is poised to reach many more users in 2017.
