EyeLock has a new president. Allen Ibaugh, the head of one of EyeLock’s newest distribution partners, is taking on the role as former President and CEO Jeff Carter departs to pursue other ventures.
Ibaugh is the owner and CEO of GalvanEyes LLC, which entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with EyeLock in May of this year. GalvanEyes was managed by Beat Kahli, VOXX’s largest shareholder.
Ibaugh is known for having co-founded project management firm DTS with Kahli and Jason Amadori. The firm was acquired by SNC-Lavalin in 2017 through a multimillion dollar agreement. He has also performed in leadership and technical roles with Space Imaging LLC, Camber Corporation, and Wilbur Smith Associates.
Ibaugh’s appointment was announced by Pat Lavelle, VOXX’s President and CEO, in a letter to EyeLock’s customers and partners. He also noted that he will personally take on the role of EyeLock CEO in the wake of Carter’s departure.
“I will be working closely with Allen and the EyeLock team, as we look to embark on a period of sustained growth and prosperity for EyeLock with new products, partners, and customers and many prospects on the horizon,” Lavelle said, adding, “We are very lucky to have Allen onboard and I firmly believe we will benefit from his leadership, expertise and passion.”
The leadership change comes after an eventful year for EyeLock. Beyond its GalvanEyes partnership, the company also signed a distribution agreement with India’s IrisScanners, and it was selected to provide iris-based access control for government data centers in Egypt. And the company kicked off 2021 with an upgrade to its EyeLock Identity Suite platform.
FindBiometrics recently had the opportunity to catch up with EyeLock Sales and Marketing VP Chris Jahnke at the Connect:ID conference in Washington, D.C.
