EyeLock has announced what it calls “three key appointments” to its executive team as it seeks to move forward from its acquisition by VOXX International Corporation. The acquisition via a 54 percent controlling interest was finalized earlier this month, with VOXX seeking to help EyeLock to explore new market opportunities for its iris scanning technology.
Mike Garibaldi joins the company as SVP and General Manager of Security Solutions, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in management, technical, and operational consulting, with his most recent stint having been as a partner in the i3 Solutions Group IT consulting firm. Blaine Frederick, meanwhile, has become EyeLock’s VP of Product Management for Security Solutions, having previously been Product Manager at STANLEY Security, a division of Black & Decker; he has 15 years of experience in the tech and security industries. Finally, Marco Emrich is the company’s new VP of Business Development for Latin America, having spent over 30 years leading startups and other companies in a range of fields.
Commenting on the appointments, EyeLock CEO Jim Demitrieus asserted that their “talent, expertise and experience will help us execute our growth strategy and further improve upon our industry leading identity management and authentication solutions.” With EyeLock’s considerable IP portfolio covering technology that has powered its iris scanning access control system and iris scanning laptop, at the very least the new appointees have a strong hand to play with going forward.
