“Egis smartphone sensors have previously been used in other mid-range Samsung devices including the Samsung Galaxy A5 and C7.”
Egis biometric technology is once again being used in new Samsung smartphones. The company has announced that its ET510 fingerprint sensor is being used in the new Samsung Galaxy ON5 and ON7 smartphones.
The ET510 is Egis’s latest fingerprint sensor model, and in a statement announcing the integration the company asserted that it “offers significant performance benefits to OEMs and users alike.” Egis CEO Steve Ro added that the ET510’s design win “is a testament to its market leading performance.”
Egis smartphone sensors have previously been used in other mid-range Samsung devices including the Samsung Galaxy A5 and C7. Earlier this month, the company announced a new partnership with Suprema to use the latter’s biometric algorithm software with its sensors, but it isn’t clear if Suprema’s technology is being used in these latest Samsung integrations.
