DTIS Finds New COO and Executive VP

Ronald Gallihugh has officially joined Digital Trusted Identity Services (DTIS) as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. He arrives following an 11-year stint at the Transportation Security Administration (aka the TSA), and he will be expected to leverage that expertise to advance the company’s interests in the aviation sector.

Before joining DTIS, Gallihugh served as the TSA’s Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Enterprise. In that role, he advised many of the organization’s core functions – including training, contracts, and IT – while overseeing a team of 1,900 employees and a budget of $2 billion. He is particularly well versed in the realm of airport cybersecurity, and helped the TSA update its computer screening capabilities and its Credential Authentication platform.

“We are thrilled to have an experienced leader of Ron’s caliber join at such a monumental time for DTIS,” said DTIS CEO John Sanders. DTIS is a joint collaboration between Daon and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and Sanders also acts as Daon’s President of Emerging Markets.

“With dedicated people, incredible technology, and a great collaboration with Daon and AAAE, I am confident that DTIS is poised for even greater success,” added Gallihugh. “I intend to build upon DTIS’s incredibly strong foundation to deploy new capabilities for our current customers and introduce new customers to our capabilities.”

DTIS provides digital identity services and fingerprint channeling technology to help airports, airlines, and other organizations conduct background checks of their employees. The company recently outfitted BI2 Technologies with fingerprint capture technology to enhance the latter’s ACCESS Background Check Program.

The news about Gallihugh’s appointment comes shortly after Daon hired Ari Schuler as its new VP of Emerging Markets. Like Gallihugh and Sanders, Schuler worked in the government sector before joining Daon, having previously served as the Director of the Innovation Team for US Customs and Border Protection.
