Denver Airport Renews Background Check Contract with Telos ID

Telos ID will continue to provide background check services for Denver International Airport. The City and County of Denver first contracted Telos back in 2013, and the two parties have now renewed their agreement for another five-year period.

Telos ID’s Designated Aviation Channeling (DAC) services are designed to streamline the credentialing process for people working in secure areas of an airport. The Denver Airport has integrated the DAC system into its own identity management platform, making it easier for prospective hires to submit their biometric and biographic information for background checks.

The web-based DAC system has the approval of the TSA and the Department of Homeland Security, and meets all of the privacy and security requirements of the two organizations. It also comes with a subscription to the FBI Rap Back program.

We are pleased to support of the City and County of Denver in their efforts to provide credentialing and vetting services while reducing costs.”

Telos ID currently provides DAC services for 90 airlines and airports, including Los Angeles International Airport and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington state. The company renewed the latter contract for another ten years in May.

For its part, the Denver airport recently launched a contactless identity pilot in collaboration with Daon. The project is part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will seek to replace paper documents with smartphone-based credentials using Daon’s flagship IdentityX platform. The airport will also introduce contactless payment terminals to make transactions safer for passengers and employees, and could eventually deploy biometric kiosks and e-Gates.
