Today, MorphoTrust USA (Safran) opened a new, larger facility in Springfield Illinois (at 3501 Hollis Drive) which promises to create more jobs in support of the identity services industry. Primarily these will be front end communications jobs owed to the new building’s larger customer service call center.
The increased customer service focus is in response to a demand for MorphoTrust’s fingerprint biometric enrollment business, bolstered by a number of TSA screening initiatives including TSA Pre✓ and other Universal Enrollment Services programs like the Transportation Worker Identity Credential and the Hazardous Materials Endorsement Threat Assessment Program.
In the announcement, MorphoTrust puts a strong focus on its 20 year history of doing business in Springfield, a distinction that has made it one of the largest private sector employers in the city. With the new facility in place, the company will retain 106 existing jobs with plans to hire at least 50 more employees.
MorphoTrust CEO Bob Eckel speaks on behalf of the company, saying, “MorphoTrust is thrilled to be able to expand our longstanding relationship with the city of Springfield. Not only are we proud to support the community with new job opportunities, we are also excited to have this community support the fastest-growing segment of our business.”
The new facility is not only customer service focused, it also includes an IdentoGO Center: a single location for enrollment associated for all of the TSA certifications described above.
MorphoTrust has been opening a growing number of enrollment centers, serving this demand for biometric enrollment. Recently MorphoTrust facilities have opened at eight locations across the United States including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, and a second location at Los Angeles International Airport, as well as IdentoGO Centers which are located off-airport.
