Deel Turns to Veriff for Employee Onboarding and Verification

Veriff will be providing secure onboarding services for Deel’s hiring and payroll platform. Deel allows businesses to manage international contracts and payments through a centralized dashboard, and to pay contractors and employees in the currency of their choice. The platform also helps guarantee that all contracts are compliant with local laws.

Veriff, meanwhile, will ensure that all of those employees are who they say they are. The company’s technology will be integrated into Deel’s onboarding process, and will help spot forged identity documents, as well as identity documents that have been manipulated.

With Veriff, Deel will be able to comply with the strict Know Your Customer and fraud prevention regulations that it is required to meet as a business that processes payments. Deel itself currently operates in more than 150 countries, and provides payroll services for more than 4,500 client organizations. Both Veriff and Deel are Y Combinator veterans, and remain active within the Y Combinator community.

Veriff launched its initial Veriff Station solution in late 2019. The company has since followed that with the release of a Face Match authentication solution in April of 2021. The start-up also brought in $69 million in a round of Series B funding that closed later that same month.
