“[GEMADEC]’s interest in Daon’s IdentityX platform is thus understandable: IdentityX is a multimodal biometric authentication system that has been widely embraced, particularly in the financial services industry, as a growing number of businesses seek to take advantage of biometrics for customer onboarding and security.”
A new partnership should considerably extend the reach of Daon‘s biometric technology in Africa. The company has teamed up with GEMADEC, an IT solutions provider based in Morocco.
GEMADEC made a name for itself in its modernization business for postal services, and has more recently worked on government projects in North Africa, including government-focused biometric census projects. The company’s interest in Daon’s IdentityX platform is thus understandable: IdentityX is a multimodal biometric authentication system that has been widely embraced, particularly in the financial services industry, as a growing number of businesses seek to take advantage of biometrics for customer onboarding and security.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Daon CEO Tom Grissen highlighted GEMADEC’s “long-standing experience and demonstrated success internationally,” adding, “Our partnership with GEMADEC will make a significant impact in the financial and public sectors as we work toward expanding our presence in the North African and Francophone African countries.”
News of the partnership comes soon after last month’s announcement that Sri Lanka’s Nations Trust Bank would adopt IdentityX in two mobile apps, further indicating Daon’s growing international presence.
