Daon has extended its partnership with CU*Answers. The two companies first started working together in 2018 with the introduction of CU*Answers’ Multiple Authentication Convenience Options (MACO) solution. MACO leverages Daon’s flagship IdentityX biometric identification solution, and was deployed at CU*Answers’ Internet Retailer Support Center (IRSC).
CU*Answers is a Credit Union Service Organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The multimodal MACO platform supports face, fingerprint, and voice recognition in addition to more traditional PIN authentication. The technology allows credit union customers to gain access to their accounts through a mobile app without the need to enter a password.
According to CU*Answers and Daon, upwards of 60 credit unions adopted MACO within its first month of release. The number of active users has since gone up more than 235 percent. As a result, the two companies have renewed their contract for an additional three-year period.
“We are very pleased with the rapid adoption of IdentityX and CU*Answers’ commitment in delivering seamless, secure and convenient identity assurance,” said Daon CEO Tom Grissen.
“By extending our partnership, we ensure credit unions and their members continued access to a valuable feature in our mobile app toolset,” added CU*Answers President and COO Geoff Johnson.
The news comes shortly after Daon launched a contactless IdentityX pilot in collaboration with Denver International Airport. The company has made IdentityX free for new customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
