Daon has been named a Leader in Javelin’s 2018 Mobile Biometrics Platform Awards.
This is the inaugural year for the awards, based on what Javelin calls its “Mobile Biometrics Platform Scorecard”. According to a publication announcing the winners on Javelin’s website, the Scorecard “evaluates twelve of the leading mobile biometric authentication platform providers to assess the capabilities they offer in authenticating customers and the flexibility they provide in adapting to the practical needs of businesses.”
Daon has been named a Leader – the highest ranking, ahead of Contenders, Followers, and Laggards – in the category of Functional; the other two categories are Innovative and Tailored. As Javelin explains, the Functional category “covers the breadth of functionality within each platform, including the biometric modalities offered, channels supported, and any supporting technologies and analytics built into the platforms.”
Daon is renowned for its IdentityX platform, which was one of the first multimodal software systems to bring multi-modal biometric authentication to mobile devices, and has been embraced by a range of organizations, especially in the financial services sector. Other Leaders named by Javelin alongside Daon are HYPR, OneSpan, and Transmit, with Entrust Datacard, Gemalto, and Nok Nok Labs coming close as Contenders.
Commenting on the recognition in a statement, Daon CEO Tom Grissen called it “a testament to Daon’s proven performance in delivering uncompromising identity security and our mission to improve customer digital experiences for the world’s most iconic brands,” adding later that it also “validates IdentityX’s agility in driving the user experience while minimizing risk, through any transaction, any time, channel, vendor and risk level.”
