Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is upgrading its digital security through BIO-key Europe’s AuthControl Sentry solution, thanks to the latter’s partnership with IT2Trust.
IT2Trust was tasked with implementing a Virtual Private Network, which is secured via AuthControl Sentry. For the Ministry’s staff, that means being able to authenticate using AuthControl Sentry’s flagship PINsafe system, a one-time passcode solution in which each end user gets a unique PIN that can be used to decode a randomly generated OTP.
The VPN and its authentication system will extend this digital security around the world, with the deployment covering not only Ministry offices within Denmark, but also embassies and consulates in other countries.
“BIO-key Europe is proud to partner with IT2Trust to enhance the security and reliability of public sector digital infrastructure,” commented Alex Rocha, the Managing Director of BIO-key Europe. “The Ministry’s decision to work with IT2Trust reflects its commitment to adopting cutting-edge technology to protect sensitive information and maintain seamless global operations.”
It’s the latest sign of momentum for AuthControl Sentry, which was brought into BIO-key’s portfolio through its acquisition of Swivel Secure Europe in 2022. Founded in 2001, Swivel Secure had amassed a roster of big-name clients including the Associated Press, Britain’s NHS, and the U.S. Army. The acquisition agreement made BIO-key the exclusive distributor of Swivel Secure Europe’s offerings across the EMEA regions.
The announcement arrives on the heels of the news that the Judiciary Police of Portugal had deployed a VPN secured by AuthControl Sentry. The Danish deployment is expected to extend secure authentication to some 4,500 end users.
