Vypin has integrated CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition technology into its own eScreener line of kiosks. The eScreener kiosks are designed primarily for access control, and specifically to support safe access control during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To that end, the integration of the FaceMe engine will enable contactless identity verification, allowing venues to authenticate individual users without asking them to make physical contact with a shared device. FaceMe has been updated to identify people who are wearing masks, so users do not need to remove their masks and risk exposure to complete a scan. The solution also makes sure that those masks are being worn properly, and that people are complying with the necessary health and safety requirements.
The eScreener kiosks will offer temperature screening and digital hand sanitization in addition to facial recognition to further improve health outcomes during the pandemic. FaceMe, meanwhile, will be available in both the Pro and Max eScreener kiosk models.

FaceMe’s facial recognition algorithm has performed extremely well in recent rounds of NIST testing. The solution has previously appeared in the touchless Sentry Health Kiosk from Municipal Parking Services, and in the VAST 2 and Nx Witness video surveillance platforms from VIVOTEK and Network Optix, respectively.
