CU*Answers is expanding its use of Daon’s IdentityX biometric platform, announcing that it will now be used not only for remote onboarding, but for authentication across its network of more than 350 credit unions.
The companies first teamed up in 2018 when CU*Answers deployed its Multiple Authentication Convenience Options solution, built on IdentityX, through its Internet Retailer Support Center. In 2020, CU*Answers went on embrace IdentityX for biometric onboarding across its credit union network.
While IdentityX supports multiple biometric modalities, in this case it’s the platform’s facial recognition technology that is being leveraged for user onboarding and, now, authentication.
“With no gaps between identity proofing and authentication processes for fraudsters to exploit, credit unions can better prevent fraud within and across channels, gaining a more unified view of their members and more opportunities to personalize, streamline, and enhance the member experience,” the companies explained in a statement.
Daon and CU*Answers are offering the onboarding and authentication solution as a fully hosted, low-code web app. Members of CU*Answers’ credit union network that want to implement can easily integrate it thanks to its adherence to the Open ID Connect protocol, with Daon and CU*Answers asserting that it can be deployed “in a matter of hours.”
Daon CEO Tom Grissen recently spoke to FindBiometrics about the company’s identity technology, including not only IdentityX but its VeriFLY health passport solution.
