Crossmatch Upgrades Flagship Authentication Platform

Crossmatch has implemented the latest major upgrade to its flagship authentication platform.

DigitalPersona v3.0 offers a number of new features, but perhaps the most important of them is its support for four additional authentication methods. And the most timely of these is probably facial recognition, given its growing prominence as an authentication mechanism on mobile devices in the wake of Apple’s launch of Face ID with the iPhone X. More and more people are getting used to confirming their identities with a face scan, and thus a growing number of end users are going to appreciate this option in DigitalPersona v3.0.

Many will also appreciate the platform’s support for FIDO U2F authentication factors such as USB security keys, another increasingly popular means of ensuring that hackers are not able to remotely gain access to sensitive IT assets. Other new authentication methods include email-based one-time passwords and Integrated Windows Authentication, which adds a layer of authentication by validating that a given user has already logged into Windows.

Further improvements to the DigitalPersona platform include support for ‘Password+Fingerprint’ login in Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) deployments and Extended System Parameters Message enhancements, among others.

The upgrade arrives soon after Crossmatch acquired a new distribution partner for DigitalPersona in Tennessee-based IT services provider Accordant Technology.
