Both devices are designed for easy deployment and use, and both sport high speed and accuracy in scanning. The Guardian 200 appears to be particularly user-friendly, appearing more or less like an advanced copy and print machine, and featuring a user-friendly touchscreen interface. It’s unobtrusive in its dimensions and offers an SDK, allowing it to easily be integrated into a range of settings. As to its actual functionality, it supports wet and dry fingerprint scanning for up to ten prints per user.
Meanwhile, the big new feature of the latest model of the L Scan is USB 3.0 connectivity. Under the hood, it’s a powerful biometric scanner able to read both fingerprints and palm prints. Both 500 and 1000 ppi versions are available, and it’s compliant with both FBI standards and National Palm Print System (NPPS) support submissions.
Crossmatch has a strong track record in its hardware offerings. Earlier this month, its Verifier Sentry handheld device was named GSN’s Biometric Identification Device of 2015, and its technology has also been integrated into other products such as Zvetco Biometrics’ Verifi Smart.Safe S6000. The company’s expertise has even attracted the attention of a senior lawmaker seeking to improve his understanding of biometric technology, so there’s good reason to trust the quality of the new L Scan and the Guardian 200.
