Next week in Washington D.C. biometrics professionals will be converging on the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center for the connect:ID exhibition and conference. Among the many high profile biometrics industry attendees will be Cross Match Technologies, who announced today that it has stepped forward as the event’s platinum sponsor.
John Hinmon, Cross Match’s head of marketing explains, “We are pleased to be a sponsor of this important and timely identity conference and exhibition in Washington, DC. Global events continue to remind us of the urgent need for greater cooperation between nations and further adoption of proven biometric technologies to verify individual identity and combat fraud—several speakers will be addressing these timely topics.
The announcement also brought with it the news that the company’s vice president of global business development Rick “Ozzie” Nelson will speak during connect:ID on the topic of “Biometrics in the 21st Century Battlefield.” Nelson will be addressing the changing nature of global warfare and the role that biometrics are playing on the modern plains of war.
Announced earlier this week, connect:ID is an event hosted by the IBIA, and will bring together a great number of identity management experts in order to address the critical issues in biometrics during this most dynamic of times in the industry.
To illustrate the scope of this event, Bob Harbour, chairman and president of the IBIA explained the aims of connect:ID in the conference announcement: “With exhibitors and speakers from around the globe, this unique and cutting edge event embraces the full spectrum of biometric and identity applications in the rapidly expanding commercial verticals and consumer arena, including mobile, healthcare, financial services, cyber threats, identity theft, and data breaches as well as new and innovative government uses.”
The event will be running from March 17 to 19.
