Creative Realities, Inc. (CRI) has partnered with Brother Mobile Solutions to improve the utility of its own Safe Space Thermal Temperature Solution. Safe Space is a freestanding screening platform that uses CRI’s Thermal Mirror kiosks to take people’s temperatures as they enter a building. The system allows venue operators to watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
The partnership with Brother will add a new feature to the platform. Specifically, venue operators will be able to pair the Thermal Mirror with TD-2 series desktop printers from Brother that can print a 2-inch badge after each scan. Guests can then wear their badge in the building to indicate that they have completed the scan and are free of COVID-19. The printers can be configured to display the date and a company logo in addition to the wearer’s health status.
The system itself can also be used for general visitor management and access control. The Thermal Mirror can identify employees when they arrive at work, and any relevant information – including their temperature and their time of arrival – will be logged in a database that can be accessed from a central dashboard. The Kiosk comes with an optional interactive display tablet for interested customers.
The contactless Thermal Mirror is accurate to within 0.5˚C or 0.9˚F, with a scan that focuses on the subject’s forehead. The technology can be deployed at schools, offices, and other venues, and is designed to support the safe return to those spaces during the pandemic.
“Our collaboration with Brother makes the solution more appealing to heavily trafficked businesses and agencies that want to maintain a healthy workplace,” said CRI CEO Rick Mill. “Temperature screening is one of the most widespread practices used to help curtail the spread of the virus.”
CRI previously partnered with Samsung to develop a Thermal Temperature Solution that combines the Thermal Mirror with Samsung’s 4K UHD Display. The Thermal Mirror is one of several temperature screening solutions that has emerged during the pandemic, with companies like UNIONCOMMUNITY and Suprema unveiling their own standalone kiosks.
