The COVID-19 pandemic has once again pushed back the dates for one of the security industry’s biggest annual events: organizers have announced that ISC West will now be held in Las Vegas from October 5th to 8th.
The announcement comes about a month after the original postponement of ISC West from March 17th to 20th, to July 20th to 22nd. But as a statement from event organizer Reed Exhibitions explained, the continuing COVID-19 crisis and the intensive containment measures that have been implemented mean that those July dates are “no longer viable”.
“Considering the escalation of COVID-19, travel and social distancing restrictions, and the economic impact over the past five weeks across the United States and the world, it is necessary to reschedule the event to October,” said Reed Exhibitions VP Will Wise, adding later that the new dates “will offer the best scenario to support the security and public safety industry, in addition to the Las Vegas community.”
The COVID-19 postponement had already prompted ISC West to host at least one of the expert panel discussions originally scheduled for March in an online forum, with FindBiometrics Digital Content VP Susan Stover moderating a discussion focused on biometrics in the enterprise.
Looking ahead to the in-person event slated for October, ISC West has already revealed important parts of the agenda. Monday, October 5th will see the beginning of the SIA Education@ISC West Conference Program, as well as the SIA Committee Meetings and the SIA Market Leaders Reception. The ISC West Keynote Series will take place on Tuesday, October 6th, and Wednesday, October 7th, and the SIA Women in Security Forum Breakfast will be held on Thursday, October 8th.
