Covenant HR Adds Identity Verification to Scout Hiring Platform

Covenant HR has integrated TurboCheck identity verification into Scout, its recruiting platform, giving hiring teams a way to validate selected candidates without moving into a separate screening system.

Recruiters decide when to initiate a check, allowing them to apply the additional step to finalists or other higher-risk cases. The verification result appears alongside Scout’s candidate evaluation, structured video interview and fraud-detection functions.

The companies are positioning the integration as a response to candidate impersonation, fabricated credentials and other forms of hiring fraud that can be made more convincing with generative AI. TurboCheck is designed to identify identity misrepresentation and impersonation, while Scout analyzes interview behavior for activity that may require a recruiter’s review.

Covenant says Scout has completed more than 23,000 structured video interviews and produced potential-fraud alerts in more than six percent of them. The company did not say that every alert represented confirmed fraud; recruiters receive the alert and supporting information for further evaluation.

The integration reflects a wider shift toward binding applicant screening to stronger identity evidence. Employ recently added ID.me identity checks across its hiring platforms, allowing employers to verify candidates at selected stages of the recruiting process.

Workforce platforms are also expanding beyond document and selfie checks. Deel’s acquisition of Clarity brought deepfake detection into hiring and workforce identity workflows, addressing synthetic video and audio used during remote interactions.

Scout keeps candidate qualification and fraud indicators separate. That distinction leaves the employment decision with the recruiter and treats identity verification as an additional control rather than a substitute for evaluating a person’s experience or suitability.

The workflow begins with resume evaluation and structured interviewing. Recruiters can then review behavioral alerts and request TurboCheck identity verification for candidates who advance. Covenant says the connected process is intended to reduce tool switching while making additional screening easier to apply consistently.

The product update places identity assurance directly inside an applicant-tracking and interview environment. In remote hiring, employers may not meet a candidate in person before granting access to company systems or sensitive information, increasing the role of identity checks in the screening process.
