Corsight AI has provided a security upgrade to the city of Santa Rosa in the Philippines. The city had already deployed Corsight’s facial recognition technology, and has now integrated new capabilities into its surveillance security infrastructure, enabling it to detect suspicious events even when the individuals involved are not already known to the system.
According to Corsight, this computer vision technology operates by looking for patterns in the frequency and duration of events, and flagging anomalies.
“It’s a privilege for us to enhance the safety of the residents of Santa Rosa by identifying both known suspects and unknown threats,” commented Corsight AI’s EVP of Business Development, Ofer Ronen. “Facial intelligence and other Safe City technologies deployed here should serve as a benchmark for cost-effective utilization of public safety budgets.”
For Santa Rosa’s part, a city official lauded the capabilities of Corsight’s technology even in challenging conditions. “Corsight AI’s technology was selected for its accuracy and reliability amidst real-world constraints such as poor video quality, limited camera angles, and disguises,” said Ronald Ian A. De Guzman, who sits on the City Development Council and represents its Safe City project.
Corsight AI’s technology has been deployed across a number of cities for public security purposes, including in São Paulo, Brazil, and in Bloomington, Minnesota, in the U.S., where it’s being used to secure the famous Mall of America.
Corsight is looking to bring its technology to more retail environments. The company has just established a global partnership with RaptorVision, which offers an AI Event-Based Product Engagement & Integration Platform. RaptorVision recognized an opportunity to leverage Corsight’s tech for enhanced security in its retail automation solution, particularly due to its ability to recognize individuals from existing CCTV feeds in crowded retail environments.
“By enhancing the retailer’s ability to swiftly and pro-actively identify and track a person-of-interest (POI) within a store or across a retailer’s network of locations, overall security and loss prevention initiatives are strengthened significantly,” explained RaptorVision VP Chris Olson.
Their combined solution is operational through the existing RaptorVision Product Engagement Platform, without the need for operators to manually implement new security tools.
