Korea-based iris biometrics specialist CMITech plans to showcase its new EF-45 iris scanner at this week’s connect:ID exhibition.
The EF-45 seeks to offer a highly intuitive user experience with a 5.0″ touchscreen that displays the user’s face while positioning for iris reading; everyone knows how to take a selfie, and the EF-45 is essentially mimicking that process for its scans. All image processing is done on the device, and CMITech plans to offer two versions of it, with one specializing in identity management and the other focusing on access control.
In a statement, CMITech CEO Dr. JJ Chae asserted that the EF-45 “culminates the vision we have had from the beginning of our company, which is to provide the simplest and most intuitive capture experience within the iris recognition field at highly attractive pricing.”
CMITech says it plans a full launch for the EF-45 this May, and aims to start shipping the products in Q3. For now, connect:ID attendees can get a sneak peek at booth #314.
