Extenua and ImageWare‘s Cloud2Drive system has launched, the companies have announced. The platform has now made its debut on Amazon Web Services.
The system is essentially a cloud storage platform using ImageWare’s multimodal biometric identification technology for user authentication. It also features what the companies call “the industry’s most hardened encryption system”, as well as the out-of-band biometric authentication capabilities of ImageWare’s mobile app. Moreover, it’s compatible with iOS, MacOSX, Linux, Android, and most Windows platforms, and the companies say that its encryption key controls exceed the specifications of both PCI and HIPAA standards.
In a statement issued earlier this year, ImageWare and Extenua highlighted not only the sophistication and security of their system, but also its low price, “at just dollars per-user per-month”. That was evidently a persuasive value proposition to Amazon Web Services, which now offers Extenua and ImageWare high-profile support as the companies seek to market their solution to other enterprises.
