CLEAR Uses Health Pass to Screen 100 People for Family Day Event

CLEAR is using its Health Pass solution to help bring people together in the midst of the pandemic. To that end, the company recently hosted ‘A Day of Families’ event at MetLife Stadium in New York, inviting more than 100 individuals to spend time with family members they have not seen in person since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The participants included 34 seniors living in South Florida, who were flown (free of charge) to New York on a United Airlines private charter from Fort Lauderdale. Those seniors were all fully vaccinated, and stayed (again free of charge) at Marriott Bonvoy’s Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel for the duration of their trip.

Their family members, meanwhile, came from the surrounding area, and used the CLEAR Health Pass app to share their negative COVID-19 test results to gain entry to the stadium. In doing so, they were able to prove that they were not infected with the disease, and could safely interact with their visiting elders.

According to CLEAR, the event was an emotional reunion for the participants, and also showed how Health Pass can be used to facilitate similar events moving forward. The platform will soon be updated to include vaccination records, which will further improve its utility as an immunity credential.

A Day of Families was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, and featured musical performances from Broadway stars Mandy Gonzalez, Kerry Butler, and Seth Rudetsky. Health Pass has previously been used to screen travelers headed to Hawaii, and to monitor the health of fans at NBA games and at the LA Football Club’s Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
