CLEAR has further expanded the reach of its biometric pre-screening platform in the sports world, this time with deployments at soccer stadiums.
One of the organization’s new partners is the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), with CLEAR’s biometric scanning to enable expedited entry for fans at the Banc of California Stadium. The same goes for the San Jose Earthquakes, another Major League Soccer team, and its Avaya Stadium.
In addition to expedited entry into the stadiums, CLEAR says it is also developing “biometric-powered stadium experiences, including biometric ticketing and biometric payments for concessions and merchandise purchases,” the company explained in a statement.
It’s the latest example of CLEAR’s recent strategy of pursuing sports venue deployments, rather than the airport deployments in which it used to specialize; just a couple of months ago, CLEAR announced that it had brought its biometric screening system to the Atlanta Braves’ SunTrust Park, the Seattle Mariners’ Safeco Field, and the Oakland Athletics’ Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. CLEAR lanes are still very much in operation at participating airports, where participants in the program pay to benefit from expedited passenger processing. CLEAR is free to use, however, at participating sports stadiums.
Commenting on these latest deployments, CLEAR Sports & Entertainment VP Lauren Stangel said, “We’re thrilled to expand further into soccer, and work hand-in-hand with these two innovative professional sports teams to provide fans the most enjoyable, hassle-free game day experience possible.”
