Today, biometric identity service CLEAR announced that San Antonio International Airport’s members-only CLEAR lanes are now open, allowing subscribers using the service to pass through security in less than five minutes on average. The announcement comes on the heels of the company’s earlier news that CLEAR will also be launching in both William P. Hobby Airport and George Bush International Airport in Houston, adding to Dallas and Denver (two of the most popular destinations visited from San Antonio) which already have the service available.
CLEAR is a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology, as certified by the Department of Homeland Security, that allows members to use iris or fingerprint biometrics in order to expedite the security process at major US airports, making travel by plane faster, reliable and more convenient.
“CLEAR and San Antonio International Airport are aligned in creating the best possible travel experience for San Antonio passengers, and are thrilled to welcome them into the CLEAR network,” said CLEAR’s chairman and CEO, Caryn Seidman Becker.
CLEAR memberships cost $179 per year and include unlimited use as well as the option of adding a spouse or partner to the account for an additional $50. Military and corporate discounts are available for the service, and children under 18 can be included free of charge.
