Today it was announced that CLEAR, a biometrics-based airport security solutions company, will continue to expand across the United States with services to be launched in September for Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC). Plans were also revealed to implement CLEAR solutions in Silicon Valley.
CLEAR’s security solution exists to allow its subscribers improved speed and predictability when it comes to travelling by air. When arriving at security, a CLEAR customer presents a biometric smart card and verifies the information with a quick scan. Once authenticated, the traveler may pass through a simple security check. The company boasts that the process takes an average of five minutes.
Once the SJC launch is complete, the airport will become the ninth in America to have adopted this biometric security solution. Earlier this month CLEAR opened gates in San Antonio International Airport, announcing also the impending launch of express security in two Houston airports.
