CLEAR Opens CLEAR+ Enrollment to International Travelers from 40 Countries

CLEAR has expanded eligibility for its CLEAR+ expedited identity lanes to passport holders from 40 additional countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, widening access for international travelers passing through U.S. airports. The announcement follows the company’s first international enrollment wave in August, which extended CLEAR+ to citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The expansion allows eligible travelers to apply with a valid passport and complete in-person verification at an enrollment location before using CLEAR+ lanes. Members can then bypass manual ID checks at participating airports, moving directly to security screening. CLEAR said the rollout is designed to reduce friction for inbound and transiting travelers, particularly ahead of large-scale events such as the World Cup that are expected to drive record passenger volumes.

The move comes alongside TSA’s pilot of biometric eGates, which authenticate travelers by matching their face to their ID and boarding pass. That program, already underway at airports in Atlanta, Washington National, and Seattle, integrates with CLEAR+ lanes and shortens the ID check process to seconds.

The company’s new eligibility expansion builds on its August initiative, when it first opened CLEAR+ enrollment to select non-U.S. travelers. Coverage of that step is detailed in CLEAR Expands CLEAR+ Enrollment to UK, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand Passport Holders and in earlier reports such as CLEAR Expands Biometric Screening to Atlanta Airport’s International Terminal.

By enlarging its user base, CLEAR is positioning to capture a greater share of premium international travelers seeking predictability at checkpoints, while TSA continues its gradual rollout of automated identity systems.
