CLEAR has announced that passport holders from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are now eligible to enroll in CLEAR+, expanding the company’s expedited security program beyond U.S. citizens and permanent residents for the first time. The expansion is effective immediately at participating U.S. airports.
Enrollment and Access
Eligible international travelers can enroll in CLEAR+ by presenting a valid passport at any CLEAR location within a participating airport. Once enrolled, members gain access to CLEAR’s dedicated biometric security lanes, where they can verify their identity using fingerprints or facial recognition to bypass standard TSA document checks.
CLEAR operates more than 150 lanes across 59 airports in the United States. The company reports that it now serves more than 33 million members, including over 7.6 million CLEAR+ subscribers who use the paid tier for expedited access at airports nationwide.
“From the beginning, CLEAR’s vision has been to make travel safer, easier, and more predictable—using the power of identity,” said Caryn Seidman-Becker, CEO of CLEAR. “We are thrilled to expand CLEAR+ eligibility to these new communities of travelers.”
Broader Expansion Strategy
The announcement represents a significant step in CLEAR’s international strategy. By extending eligibility to travelers from these four countries – all part of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program – the company is positioning itself to serve millions of frequent international visitors. CLEAR has indicated that additional countries are expected to be added later this year, broadening the scope of its global enrollment options.
International members will follow the same enrollment process as U.S. citizens and residents, including biometric verification at a CLEAR airport location. The company says the move is designed to reduce wait times for international visitors and align with its broader goal of making travel experiences more seamless and secure.
The expansion builds on CLEAR’s recent efforts to grow its airport footprint and enhance partnerships with TSA. Through its role as an official TSA PreCheck enrollment provider, CLEAR has expanded its reach into additional airports and continues to integrate biometric verification into the travel experience.
By opening CLEAR+ enrollment to passport holders from the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, the company is making a play for international travelers who regularly fly to the United States, extending the convenience of biometric screening to a broader community of passengers.
