“With CLEAR, venues can focus more of their time personalizing and enhancing the game-day experience so fans can enjoy more of what they came to see.” – Ed O’Brien, Head of Sports, CLEAR
CLEAR has established a trio of new MLB partnerships to bring its biometric expedited screening technology to more ballparks.
Baseball and Biometrics
The new partnerships pertain to the Texas Rangers and their home stadium of Globe Life Park, the Minnesota Twins and Target Field, and the Baltimore Orioles and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. And they bring CLEAR’s growing network of sports partners to 18, spanning the MLB, NFL, and MLS.
It’s an important expansion for CLEAR, which pioneered its eponymous biometric platform as a passenger screening solution for airports but has recently been exploring additional applications in large volume venues such as sports and concert arenas.

Expedited screening lanes at these new locations have already gone live, while a biometric ticketing system is making its way to other major ballparks: CLEAR says baseball fans who sign up will be able to enter New York’s Citi Field with a fingerprint scan on opening day, and that this same functionality is coming to Detroit’s Comerica Park and Arlington’s Globe Life Park later this month.
As for CLEAR’s pioneering biometric payments technology that allows members to buy concession snacks and drinks with just a fingerprint scan, this is now operational in Seattle’s T-Mobile Park, and the company said in a statement that it “is working closely with MLB teams and local liquor board representatives across the country to make this time-saving, secure concessions solution available to more fans this season.”
[Update 04/05/2019: A previous version of this article stated that the new CLEAR lanes at Globe Life Park, Target Field, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards were not yet operational; in fact the deployments have gone live. – Ed.]
