Waldo Photos has teamed up with CampDoc to make it easier for parents to find pictures of their kids while they’re away at summer camp.
As the name suggests, Waldo Photos is a startup that uses facial recognition to find someone in a crowd (or a group of photos), while CampDoc is an electronic health records system tailored specifically for camps. The direct integration will allow parents with a Waldo account to search through any photos uploaded to the CampDoc database. They simply need to upload a photo of their child, and Waldo will return any positive matches via text or through the app itself.
“While many campers experience homesickness at camp, we know that parents often have similar feelings, missing and worrying about their children while they’re away,” said CampDoc Owner and Director Michael Ambrose. “We are very excited to partner with Waldo Photos to help parents see their children having fun at camp without having to sort through an unorganized album of pictures.”
Waldo Photos has previously partnered with individual summer camps. The arrangement will immediately extend Waldo’s services to the entire CampDoc network and drastically increase the company’s footprint. Waldo is an opt-in system, though it remains unclear if Waldo himself has in fact opted-in.
