UK-based time and attendance solutions company Bodet Ltd has launched a new biometric device that has already won a design award. The Kelio Visio X7 is a mobile, multi-function attendance tracker, and is a 2015 Red Dot Award winner.
The device uses a 7″ touchscreen and a simple user interface to perform a range of functions. Most important among those is employee time and attendance tracking; the device lets staff clock in and out via smart card, fob, or fingerprint. But it also lets multiple departments send internal messages and documents via the console, and allows users to schedule time off and to create payroll reports. In recognizing the device with its award, the Red Dot jury cited its “feature-rich functionality and ease-of-use.”
In a way, the Kelio Visio X7 is notable for its lack of fanfare over its biometric capabilities. While biometric time and attendance tracking is still relatively new in most workplace settings, it is increasingly prevalent via a wide range of deployments, from a Mexican bakery chain to an El Salvadoran sugar mill; but by folding this new technology into a user-friendly package with a range of other special features, Bodet’s device is helping to push the technology past its own novelty factor and make it a standard feature of time and attendance tracking systems. The Red Dot Award helps to further cement its normalcy, helping to further pave the way for widespread adoption of this technology.
