UK-based biometric access control specialist Biosite has attained some major new VC backing: Mobeus Equity Partners has invested £4 million in the company.
Biosite specializes in the construction sector, offering a biometric access control system based on a fingerprint recognition algorithm designed especially for the kinds of worn-down fingerprints commonly seen among construction workers. The company also offers CCTV and fire alarm installation.
The funding deal will see the appointment of Mobeus’s Amit Hindocha to the Biosite board of directors. In a statement, Hindocha called Biosite “one of the leading workforce management platforms in the construction industry”, and suggested that Mobeus’s backing “will provide them with the capital needed to become the site management tool for the industry.”
Biosite isn’t the only company aiming biometric access control solutions at the UK construction market, with competitors like ievo also offering their own such technologies in a market that appears to be heating up.
