BioRugged to Showcase Upgraded Tech at TRUSTECH 2021

One of the biggest annual conferences in the identity and security industry is about to get underway, and BioRugged has announced that it will be on hand to showcase new biometric devices to attendees.

While TRUSTECH has a strong focus on the payments sector with respect to identification and security solutions, it attracts representatives from a range of industries, offering BioRugged an opportunity to show its ruggedized products to individuals from areas like border control and law enforcement. Those are the sectors that will probably show the greatest interest in the latest version of the BioWolf 8R device, which now features an MRZ and ePassport reader. In a statement, BioRugged CEO Arnd Langguth said the upgraded device is “a milestone in our expansion into that field.”

BioRugged will also be taking the opportunity to tout the BioWolf 8R’s MIL-STD-810G certification at TRUSTECH 2021. MIL-STD-810G is a United States Military Standard concerning the testing of equipment through the simulation of various environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, low pressure, humidity, fog, and so on. The certification therefore attests to the BioWolf 8R’s ruggedness and capability to operate in a range of environments.

Beyond showing off the BioWolf 8R at TRUSTECH, BioRugged says it will also showcase a new device called the Marquee 5.1, which can be connected to a computer to enable multimodal biometric enrollment. Maintaining its strong focus on the areas of border control and law enforcement, BioRugged is offering a “Border Control” version of the Marquee 5.1 that, like the upgraded BioWolf 8R, features an MRZ and ePassport reader.

As the company’s strong focus on border control would suggest, Ireland-based BioRugged has global ambitions, illustrated earlier this year through a partnership with Vezion Group aimed at extending BioRugged’s reach in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. TRUSTECH 2021, with its internationally diverse roster of attendees, could therefore prove to be a significant opportunity for BioRugged to reach new customers from around the world.

TRUSTECH 2021 will run from November 30 to December 2 in the Paris Expo venue at the Porte de Versailles, with BioRugged slated to showcase its solutions from booth 5.2 F064.
