BioRugged is bringing on a new CEO to lead its global expansion efforts. The South African biometrics specialist has announced that Arnd Langguth has signed on as the company’s new chief executive, with the expectation that he will leverage his considerable experience in the biometrics industry to raise the BioRugged profile.
“With his experience in biometric projects across the world, his strong technical background, and his ability to bridge the gap between technology and real-world use, Arnd is the ideal person to drive BioRugged growth to the next level,” said BioRugged Founder and COO Hof Retief. “We are striving to be the first choice for any partner that needs specialized, rugged hardware for biometric projects.”
Langguth joins BioRugged after a stint at GenKey Solutions in the Netherlands, where he served as COO. Before that, he was the Vice President of Sales for the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions at Crossmatch Technologies, which would later go on to become HID Global.
“The growth path of BioRugged is amazing,” said Langguth. “Through its partners, BioRugged became the leading manufacturer for the TelCo KYC market in Africa and gained significant market shares in Government projects.”
BioRugged has steadily escalated its operations in recent years, both with new hires and the release of new biometric products. For example, the company released a pair of new BioWolf enrollment tablets with Kojak fingerprint scanners last July. The company’s rugged devices can be used for a slew of different applications, including border control and voter registration.
