New BioMini Slim 2 Features ‘World’s Slimmest’ Optical Sensor

Suprema is getting ready to unveil another new addition to its BioMini line of fingerprint scanners. The company has announced that it’s going to launch the BioMini Slim 2 at the TRUSTECH 2016 event later this month.

In a statement announcing the new device, the company asserted that it features the world’s slimmest high definition optical sensor, which comes in at just 16mm. The device also sports FBI PIV/FIPS 201/Mobile ID FAP20 compliance, and IP65 water resistance.

The device joins the ranks of other recently announced BioMini scanners from Suprema, including the Android-compatible BioMini Combo announced earlier this month, and the WiFi-enabled BioMini Slim S announced last month. Like those devices, the BioMini Slim 2 features Suprema’s liveness detection technology and can read fingerprints in direct sunlight.

The TRUSTECH 2016 expo, which revolves around trust-based technologies, will take place from November 29th to December 1st, with Suprema set to launch its BioMini Slim 2 on the first day of the show.
