“…the smartphone’s major selling feature is its tailored support for gaming.”
One of Fingerprint Cards‘ longstanding clients is once again using the company’s biometric technology in a new device: Xiaomi’s Black Shark Helo smartphone features an FPC1229 fingerprint sensor.
It’s the same fingerprint sensor model used in the recent OPPO F9 and F9 Pro smartphones, though this appears to be the first time that Xiaomi has opted for the model for one of its own devices.
As for the Black Shark Helo, the smartphone’s major selling feature is its tailored support for gaming. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, an Adreno 630 GPU, a 6″ HDR AMOLED display, and a 4,000 mAh battery, among other features. 6GB and 8GB versions of the device have now gone on sale in China, while a 10GB version is scheduled to launch on December 12th.
In a statement announcing the sensor integration, Fingerprints highlighted the “unique image quality, extreme robustness, low power consumption and excellent biometric performance” of its fingerprint sensor technology.
News of the integration arrives alongside news of another new Xiaomi integration, with the China-based company’s Mi Mix 3 smartphone featuring an FPC1291 fingerprint sensor.
