Vision-Box has secured a five-year contract with London’s Gatwick Airport. According to the terms of the Framework Agreement, Vision-Box will first replace the airport’s current legacy equipment with its Orchestra Services Platform, and then provide ongoing updates to deliver more efficient end-to-end passenger processing for the duration of the contract.
The partnership will allow travelers to move through Gatwick Airport more efficiently. Vision-Box will install identity verification tech at various airport checkpoints, including check-in, baggage drop-off, and at departure gates.
“This endeavor supports our growth plans and our focus on delivering the best passenger experience,” said Gatwick COO Chris Woodroofe. “By introducing this passenger flow and identity management system, we can automate our passenger journey across the airport.”
Of course, Gatwick is not the first airport to turn to Vision-Box in an effort to improve the passenger experience. The company recently launched a Seamless Flow One ID pilot at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, and its tech is already being used to screen people traveling from LAX in Los Angeles to Heathrow Airport in London.
In other news, Vision-Box also announced that it will be attending the 2020 Passenger Terminal Expo, where it will be showcasing its latest wares and presenting a panel discussion that highlights the ways in which digital identity technology has transformed international travel. The company will be demoing the newest iteration of its One ID platform during the event.
“By taking an active role here, we are in a unique position to better understand the needs and concerns of our customers,” said Vision-Box CEO Miguel Leitmann. “Advancing seamless travel technology is our top priority this year. We want to engage in tangible discussions with the industry regarding the benefits we can deliver.”
The Passenger Terminal Expo is scheduled to run from March 31 to April 2 in Paris.
