Unisys has released a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) version of its biometric Stealth(identity) platform. The new SaaS version of Stealth(identity) will make it easier (and cheaper) for small businesses to deploy the identity management and authentication platform.
Stealth(identity) made its debut earlier this year, with a launch that was geared towards large enterprises. The SaaS release takes advantage of Microsoft Azure to make the platform more accessible for smaller operations.
“By offering a cloud-based service, Unisys is leveraging our experience in large-scale national ID and border protection implementations and making them available for smaller-scale enterprise implementations like online banking, airline passenger boarding, or second factor biometric authentication,” said Unisys CTO and Technology SVP Vishal Gupta. “Stealth(identity) gives clients a simplified, effective way of addressing identity fraud.”
Stealth(identity) allows organizations to safeguard physical and digital channels with secure biometric authentication. The SaaS solution will support numerous biometric modalities, and facial recognition and behavioral biometrics in particular. The flexible platform will also allow customers to adopt new biometric modalities as technology continues to evolve.
Unisys enjoyed higher-than-expected revenues in its recent third quarter update, thanks in large part to a new five-year contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that concerns facial recognition and AI anti-fraud technology. The release of a new SaaS platform should only improve the company’s fiscal prospects moving forward.
To that end, the Stealth(identity) platform was a central component of Unisys’s renewal agreement with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in Queensland, Australia. In addition to creating driver’s licenses and other forms of documentation, Unisys will use Stealth(identity) to upgrade the TMR system with facial recognition capture devices.
The SaaS Stealth(identity) solution will be available through a subscription pricing model, and supports single sign-on capabilities for any interaction with biometric authentication.
