Phillip L. Kumnick has been named as the newest member of Ipsidy’s Board of Directors. Kumnick has more than 30 years of executive experience in the payments industry, including a lengthy stint as Visa’s Senior Vice President of Global Acquirer Processing from 2010-2018.
At Visa, Kumnick helped develop the Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) tokenization standard. His career also included prior stops at Mastercard, TSYS Acquiring Solutions, and Cap Gemini.
“At this critical stage of development, we welcome Phil’s extensive experience and depth of knowledge in the fields of security, platform operations and international markets,” said Ipsidy Chairman and CEO Philip Beck. “We believe that he will have a significant contribution to make to helping us achieve our goals.”
Kumnick will likely boost Ipsidy’s efforts to expand its international footprint. The company has specifically been targeting the Latin American market, and recently leveraged its partnership with Mobile Solutions Peru to reach an agreement with the country’s national ID registry.
“I believe that [Ipsidy’s] IDaaS platform has tremendous potential for delivering innovative identity solutions, which are so desperately needed in today’s digital world,” added Kumnick.
Ipsidy’s biometric portfolio includes the Proof, Time, Access, and Concierge applications, all of which are now compatible with the latest iOS and Android mobile devices.
