NEC and NEC Asia Pacific will have a significant presence at the upcoming SFF X Switch conference in Singapore. The inaugural SFF X Switch will blend the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) with the Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SWITCH) to create a single event with an emphasis on FinTech and digital solutions for the financial services industry.
“With the rise in security risks and the need to develop new products for customers, banks and service providers worldwide have to be agile to succeed in this digital age,” said NEC Digital Integration Director Daichi Iwata. “NEC’s comprehensive, end-to-end solutions are well-placed to address the emerging challenges to create banks of the future.”
To that end, NEC will be showcasing a subscription Banking-as-a-Service platform, in addition to a full suite of biometric identity solutions. The highlights include NEC’s Biometric Digital Identity Service (BDIS) with face-based authentication and liveness detection, as well as an ATM with facial recognition capabilities. NEC’s biometric ATMs allow customers to withdraw funds with only a facial recognition scan, and have already been deployed in Japan and Taiwan.
NEC will also be demoing the Secured QR Code from Denso Wave, which leverages facial recognition to enable offline authentication during Point-of-Sale transactions. NEC’s facial recognition tech recently achieved the top score in the latest round of the NIST’s Face Recognition Vendor Test.
SFF X Switch will run from November 11 to 15 at the Singapore EXPO Convention & Exhibition Centre, though the conference and exhibition portion of the event will only run from November 11 to 13. NEC’s wares will be on display at booth #2R17.
